American Cinema Editors will hold its annual roundtable of the Oscar nominated editors at Grauman’s Hollywood Egyptian Theatre February 27th, the night before the Oscars.
If you’re a fan of great editing, or have been following along with the Art of the Cut series, there is a unique opportunity in L.A. the night before the Oscars to hear the six Oscar nominees (Star Wars has two editors) the night before the Oscars.
The roundtable, titled “Invisible art/visible artists” will be held February 27th at Graumans Hollywood Egyptian Theater at 6712 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA at 10:30am. They are expecting a sell-out crowd.
I have asked whether this event will be streamed or recorded in any way and have not heard back from ACE. If I hear back about any chance of “tuning in” to this event from outside of Hollywood, I’ll post an update and send out a tweet to my followers.
The panel will consist of Hank Corwin, ACE (The Big Short), Magaret Sixel (Mad Max: Fury Road), Stephen Mirrione, ACE (The Revenant), Tom McArdle (Spotlight) and Maryann Brandon, ACE & Mary Jo Markey, ACE (Star Wars: The Force Awakens). The panel will be hosted by ACE’s president, Alan Hein, ACE.
