I found this video via a Twitter message from Tyler Ginter the other day (and that message came to Tyler via Jason Wingrove [It’s the many levels of a Twitter re-tweet]). It’s a demo of a very Minority Report-like computer interface that is being demonstrated for use in video post-production.
The system is called Tamper, is demoed by its creator John Underkoffler, and the subtitle of the video is the “editing system of the future.” It is quite cool even if it’s not doing very much creative cuts/dissolves type of storytelling in the demo. That type of editing is much less flashy than effects and compositing. It’s fun to see these new ideas … made me think of Super LoiLoScope.
