In this lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe takes a look at a common situation that editors run into, and that’s when a producer/director asks them to remove an element from a shot. Whether it’s a sign on a wall, or even a boat on an empty ocean, this is a fairly simple task, assuming the footage is static. Those situations are few and far between. BCC’s Remover effect, combined with the power of Mocha AE will make the task of removing elements from moving shots simple, and you won’t even have to leave the comfort of your Media Composer timeline!
This was a fun lesson for me. When BCC 10 was released, I said that “Boris’ purchase and integration of Mocha in to Media Composer is probably one the biggest leaps forward in effects for Avid Editors in the last 10 years. Hands down.”, and this lesson will really show you that. If you have BCC, and haven’t upgraded to version 10, it’s worth it for the Mocha integration alone, but in this lesson, both the Mocha integration and Remover effect are from the newest release, and they will help you perfect shots, that you would have had to settle for in the past. Enjoy!
