Light Iron – a post production leader specializing in on-site dailies, digital intermediate, archival, and data services for projects originated on file-based motion cameras – is happy to announce that its iPad app TODAILIES has been awarded the 2012 Cine Gear Expo Technical Award for Post Production.
“We are honored to receive the award for Best New Technology in Post Production from Cine Gear,” says Light Iron CEO Michael Cioni. “We listened to what professional creatives said they wanted and needed in dailies review systems, and we used that feedback to make TODAILIES the best dailies tool in the world.”
TODAILIESTM by Light Iron is an iPad app for digital dailies review. With TODAILIES, key crew can take home color corrected and synced dailies that are loaded wirelessly onto their personal iPads. With up to 2Kresolution, TODAILIES offers higher quality images than traditional DVD, BluRay, or web-based dailies, which have been the industry standard for take-home review. TODAILIES also has enhanced security over DVDs – providing username, password, and watermarking functionality.
In addition to improved image quality and content security, TODAILIES provides more interactivity than DVD dailies. Users can dynamically sort clips by date, circle takes, scene & take, or by camera. Users can also create their own sequences by adding clips to a custom playlist. That playlist can then be exported as an EDL, ALE, or XML for rebuilding in the edit room. For group review of dailies, TODAILIES can be projected using Apple’s Air Play technology.
Juliane Grosso, Director of Cine Gear Expo, notes the Cine Gear Expo Technical Awards honor the best in new technology. “Cine Gear wishes to encourage and acknowledge the innovative, cutting edge engineers and creative teams who meet the demands of today’s and tomorrow’s productions. TODAILIES is well thought out, intuitive, and easy to use.”
TODAILIES has over a thousand users to date and is available to productions around the world via the iTunes App Store. For more information, visit www.lightiron.com/todailies.
