[Update 9 Dec: ASG Large Raster Workflow seminar Tuesday in San Francisco.]
1) Media Solutions and Sony present Sony PMW-F3/NEX-FS100u Demo and Workflow Solutions this Monday, 12 December, at Meets The Eye Studios, San Carlos CA (Northern California, between San Francisco and San Jose).
Join Media Solutions and technical experts from Sony on Monday, December 12th at Meets The Eye Studios, 939 Terminal Way, San Carlos CA. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to learn about these great cameras, plus workflow demonstrations. In addition to the Super 35mm cameras, we will be displaying several new products that promise to enhance workflow.
The typical demo format has been enhanced to offer more for everyone attending this event. There will be an entry-level session offering a general product overview, including features and functions of the camera, as well as workflow. Following the entry-level demo, we will get more technical, and move into a more advanced training session.
Come for just one or both sessions but don’t miss out on your chance to see these cameras in action!
3:00pm-5:00pm: PMW-F3/NEX-FS100U Introduction and Overview-Camera Features and Workflow (Entry-Level)
5:00pm-6:00pm: PMW-F3/NEX-FS100U Technical Overview for DPs and Camera Operators (Advanced Level)

[Disclaimer: I work at Meets The Eye. We’re providing space for this event at no charge, though we benefit from the visibility.]
Josh tells me he’ll have three PMW-F3s and two NEX-FS100s, Sony OLED monitors, SR-1 recording media, and a variety of add-ons from Zacuto, Duclos, Chroziel, and others. The Sony expert will be Shahpour Nosrati-Fard, and DPs Ted Setla and Marek Poray will also be presenting.
I have an FS100 for review at the moment, and I’ll bring it along with the Hot Rod Cameras PL-mount adapter, some Ultra Primes… and a RED 18-85mm zoom, if I can get all the support gear to play nicely together.

3) If you haven’t yet seen Canon EOS C300 = Awesome on Vimeo, you haven’t seen the best camera demo ever (caution: contains one rude word, one scatological reference, and several risqu© [but SFW] images). Well worth six minutes!
Disclaimer: I work at Meets The Eye, so I have ulterior motives in promoting the Media Solutions event ’cause it’s at our studio. Beyond that, neither I nor Meets The Eye have any material connection to Media Solutions, Sony, ASG, or Jonathan Yi (who made the awesome video), nor have any of them offered me any compensation, kickbacks, coffee drinks, dark chocolates, or other blandishments to promote their doings.
Sony has sent me an NEX-FS100 and the Hot Rod Cameras PL-mount rig for review, which I will return to them at my expense once I’m done. Meets The Eye owns the PL-mount lenses I’ll be showing.
I am participating in the event simply as an MTE employee and an interested observer; I happen to have equipment handy that will enhance the presentation. I am not promoting Sony or Media Solutions; I’m merely setting up gear so that folks can take a look at it. Folks can make up their own minds whether they like what they see.
