In this lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe goes further in-depth into archiving your Media Composer projects by looking at a paid for Third Party utility that has been around for a long time. Random Video’s Media Mover. As great as free is, sometimes you need a little extra power to archive your projects quick and easy.
After recording last week’s tutorial, I realized that archiving a sequence/project is not exactly the easiest thing in Media Composer. The Consolidate tool really hasn’t changed since I’ve started using Media Composer, which was over 15 years ago. So what do you do if you need to go a little more “in-depth”, when it comes to archiving your projects? Well, you have to go Third Party and for me, Random Video’s Media Mover is one of the easiest to use utilities out on the market today to get either just your sequence, or your entire project (used/unused media) backed up onto an external hard drive, lightening quick.
