In this lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe talks about Multi-channel audio exports from Media Composer, and how DNxHD doesn’t always need to be your export codec of choice!
I was challenged today about a tutorial I did over 2.5 years ago, on how to export your QuickTime movies from Media Composer with multi-channel audio. This technique is exceptionally important, especially if you’re looking to deliver your shows/spots with 5.1+Stereo audio. It’s actually much easier then you might think, and believe it or not, you can even do it to non-Avid codec QuickTime files. If you’re working with a “Codec Friendly” resolution, you can export that same codec back out of Media Composer, and retain the multl-channel audio.
