We’re heading back to the mailbag to answer another viewer question, and it’s one that throws people for a loop a lot of the time, and that is getting your SD footage to look correct in your HD 16x timeline.
For this week’s lesson, I we’re going to take one last break before we get back into the basics, and answer another, more advanced question from a viewer. Francis is having concerns working with 4×3 footage in a 16×9 timeline. The producers he works with are more than happy to just stick with a stretched out image, instead of taking the few required seconds to fix things, and have them looking correct. His question got me thinking about Media Composer before Frame Flex, as well as now, when any clip is dropped into a timeline that its parameters don’t match, Frame Flex is automatically applied. Bonus if you’re working on a system that supports it. But, what do you do if you’re working on a “Pre Frame Flex” system? Don’t worry. I have you covered in this lesson.
