Media Composer 101 has been rebranded to Let’s Edit with Media Composer! Enjoy all the new tutorials at the new YouTube page!
In this introductory Lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe introduces you to Avid Media Composer Subscription (also called MC8).
He talks about the Application Manager, how it works, and why you’ll want to keep you eye on it. He also talks about the free software you receive, and how to go about getting it, and finally, he talks about some great resources you’ll want to keep at your fingertips, to keep your edits running smooth as possible. Moving forward, Kevin is going to get you up to speed as quickly as possible on the in’s and out’s of the NLE used by the leading editors in the world. This tutorial series is designed to be interactive, so if you have any questions, or topics that you feel free to drop Kevin a line at kevinpmcauliffe@gmail.com, and maybe your question will be turned into the next lesson. The big difference between this series, and others out there is that it will be an “all-in-on” series that not only covers the basics, but will be immediately updated when new versions of the software are released. As of the recording of this lesson, the most current version of the software is version 8.1, and don’t forget, about 80-85% of the information in the lesson(s) can be applied to earlier versions of the software, so don’t think that just because you’re using pre-V8, that these lessons won’t apply to you or your workflow.
