What happens when you move a clip from one event to another?
In this week's episode of MacBreak Studio, Steve Martin from Ripple Training demonstrates exactly what happens and why.
The new unified library model in Final Cut Pro 10.1 really simplifies media management by taking care of tracking the location of clips “under the hood” while you work. Libraries are entirely self-contained units, meaning that one library will never reference another library. This “self-sufficiency” means that you can always safely open, close, and move libraries with confidence, knowing that they contain all the media needed for the projects they contain (or links to that media if stored externally). It also has ramifications for what happens when you move clips, projects, and events between libraries.
Steve shows us exactly what happens, and how we can change what happens, when you copy a clip from one event to another – both within the same library, as well as between libraries.
