Point Grey, one of the world’s largest and most innovative manufacturers of digital cameras for industrial, bioscience, traffic, and GIS applications will be in exhibiting at SIGGRAPH 2012 and showing three innovative new cameras.
The upcoming Ladybug5 is Point Grey’s latest generation 360° digital video system featuring an impressive 30 MP of streaming data over USB 3.0. The Ladybug5 breaks new ground by being the only spherical camera to leverage CCD sensor technology. The Ladybug series’ is also the only spherical camera in the world to provide real-time streaming video. The new Ladybug5 features six high resolution 5 megapixel CCD image sensors collecting 30 megapixels of image data for more than 90% of the full sphere. The camera streams raw or JPEG compressed images at up to 10 frames per second over high-speed USB 3.0 to the host system, where Point Grey’s proprietary Ladybug software performs fast and accurate image stitching in real-time.
Point Grey will also be showing its highly publicized 4K Flea3 camera, the smallest 4K camera in the world. Since demonstrating the world’s first USB 3.0 camera in 2009, Point Grey has again pushed the boundaries of imaging technology by packing a high quality, 8.8 megapixel, 4K2K sensor into the tiny ice-cube sized Flea3 camera at an unbeatable price-point.
A third demonstration features a new model from Point Grey’s ever expanding line of Flea3 Gigabit Ethernet cameras. This upcoming model uses the Sony ICX687 sensor with EXview HAD CCD II technology providing high near-infrared sensitivity and full HD resolution over 15 FPS.
Visit us at Booth # 237 for live demonstrations of all three cameras.
