If you were watching PVC during the Monday of NAB 2014 you probably saw a series of videos posted about our visit to the FCPWORKS suite that was setup outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center. We were one of the first to take a tour of this suite dedicated to Final Cut Pro X workflows. It was an impressive collection of technology that revolved around FCPX.
Sam Mestman showed us around the suite and quite a few different vendors where there to show a lot of different things that FCPX was capable of. We took the tour on Sunday afternoon before the craziness of the NAB show floor opened so it was great to get a nice, quiet tour. I heard that the suite was quite busy at times during the week. That would make sense as there was a lot to see in the FCPWORKS suite. Everything from hardware to software to all the integration in between were there to take center stage. Here’s what we saw.
In this first video we get an overview of FCPWORKS from Sam.
Here editor Michael Garber talks about why FCPX is his platform of choice.
Cantemo Portal is a nice digital asset management tool with unique FCPX integration.
Softron offers up multicam capture options as some of their FCPX integration.
Philip Hodgetts tells us about his Lumberjack System for FCPX as well as some of Intelligent Assistance’s other tools.
DIT Station has some very cool on-set DIT hardware that utilizes the new Mac Pro.
Finally, Sam brings it all together by showing us some cool feature film workflow that revolves around FCPX. It was great seeing all this in action so thanks to FCPWORKS for showing up around before their official opening the week of NAB 2014.
