Schneider Optics announced it is moving from Van Nuys to a new space in Burbank, following Canon and Sigma. A special event, right after NAB 2019 ends, will celebrate the official opening.
Schneider Optics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider-Kreuznach, will be at NAB 2019, showcasing its cine optics, projection lenses and MPTV filters for motion picture and television. Right after NAB 2019 ends, the company will open, on April 12, its new facilities in Burbank, California. To celebrate their move from Van Nuys to the heart of Burbank, Schneider will host a Grand Opening Celebration on April 12, 2019 from 3 to 6pm.
The move of Schneider Optics offices to Burbank comes months after Sigma moved to the same area, and almost two years after Canon expanded its original location. There is a common trend in the move: being closer to clients. Kazuto Yamaki, CEO of Sigma Corporation, said in November last year, this ““Having a physical presence in the greater Los Angeles area has long been a vision of ours. The new West Coast Sigma center has been years in the making and to finally open it to the public is very exciting”.
Canon and Sigma are also in Burbank
Sigma opened its space in 2018, but Canon was there before. For Canon, the new space in Burbank represented “the culmination of our commitment to listen to our clients, understand their needs and provide them with what they need to bring their artistic and passion projects to life”, said in July 2017 Eliott Peck, executive vice president and general manager of the Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A..
Schneider Optics had a similar goal. The Schneider Optics team selected this specific, central location for key customer and industry convenience, providing easy access to lens and filter inventory including last-minute, emergency Will Call product deliveries at the site – with easy access from Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, and other film-land services in Burbank and across the San Fernando Valley. This site primarily functions as a sales and distribution center for the Western United States and Canada – with multi-element lens service and repair capabilities under one roof.

Dr. Thomas Kessler, Chief Executive Officer for the Schneider Group commented, “This new facility is an important step in demonstrating our commitment to providing the next level of convenience to our customers in Los Angeles and Hollywood. We worked long and hard to identify the best property to serve our customers and are excited about this new location.”
The Schneider Group designs, develops, and produces high-performance Lenses for demanding video, cinematography, digital projection, and industrial optics applications – with over 100 years experience in precision optical design, manufacture, test, and distribution. With a growing global presence, worldwide customers increasingly turn to Schneider Optics for both standard and custom optical solutions.
Cine Gear Expo 2019 is next
In the cinematography world, Schneider Optics is well known for its industry-leading MPTV Filter line, senses for film, television production, and still photography as well as market-leading B+W Filters. Schneider is known for the finest motion picture filters available, including Classic Soft, RHOdium FSND, True-Net, Radiant Soft, and Hollywood Black Magic.
Besides the presence at NAB 2019, to show all its products for cinematography, television and photography, will also be at Cine Gear Expo 2019, at the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, from May 31 until June 01 2019.
To celebrate their move from Van Nuys to the heart of Burbank, Schneider will host, as mentioned above, a Grand Opening Celebration on April 12, 2019 from 3 to 6pm. A Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting by the Burbank Chamber of Commerce will take place at 4 pm. Customers, partners, and friends across the industry are, says the company, “cordially invited to join Schneider Optics leadership, staff, and guests to share in the celebration”. Please confirm your presence to RSVP@schneideroptics.com.
The new Schneider Optics location is 640 S. Glenwood Place, Burbank, CA 91506 and new telephone is (818) 748- 3369.
