This week on MacBreak Studio, Steve Martin from Ripple Training shows us a great tip regarding Smart Collections in Final Cut Pro X.
If you use iPhoto or iTunes, then you are already familiar with how Smart Collections operate: you create a set of criteria, or rules, that govern what appears in the collection. The rules can include keywords applied to clips, the type of clip, the type of media, and much more. By combining rules, you can create complex “filters” on your media.
Then only the clips in the event that match those rules appear in that smart collection. And any clips you add to the event that match those rules will also automatically appear in it as well.
This week's tip takes this concept a step further by showing how you can create a “template” of smart collections that you can then apply to any event – thereby saving you the time of recreating those collections that you may find yourself making over and over again for each event.
Along the way, Steve provides some cool tips on how to create some very useful smart collections. Not to be missed.
