Available for laptops from 13 to 17 inches from all brands, the Sliden’joy project was funded in Kickstarter, with €600,514 pledged of a € 300,000 goal. A total of 1,626 backers helped to bring this project to life in 33 days.
Sliden’joy is the world’s first accessory tripling your laptop screen. Extremely thin, strong, light and portable, connected with a single USB, it comes with a powerful and slim magnet that clips it instantly and easily. For photographers and videographers, the added desktop surface helps to create a faster workflow. Research indicates a second screen increases productivity by 9 to 50 percent, so the Sliden’joy may be a good investment.
Depending on the way you use your laptop, your needs can change. That’s why you can choose between 2 models of Sliden’Joy : 1 or 2 external screens. To connect them you just need a single USB 3.0 connection, or if your laptop is of an older generation, 2 USB 2.0.
The accessory can also be used for presentations, as it allows for multiple configurations, both for a single user and multiple users. Once your additional screens are open, simply turn them up to 180° to share what you see with people seating around the table.
The Sliden’joy accessory uses IPS type monitors for less power consumption. With a resolution of 1920×1080, response time of 5ms and 1000:1 in terms of contrast, the monitors were chosen to be light. Each element weighs between 50 to 1200 grams, depending on the size chosen. The final weight of the accessory will also depend on the finish chosen, as there are multiple options. Sliden’joy isn’t only available in a multitude of colours, it’s also a large range of textures different from everyday life accessories. This will be available in leather, real wood veneer, brushed aluminium and even carbon! Besides being practical, the team behind the accessory wanted it to be nice, clean and beautiful. A third, additional screen is being developed to integrate the Sliden’Joy accessory. The success of the Kickstarter funding allowed the team to extend the project in a new direction, from which the third screen is the first. With the third screen that will be magnetized to your current twins Sliden’Joy, it will be possible to share content with more people.
