In case you hadn’t read any of my prior related articles, from March 2013 until sometime last Friday, July 26, 2013, Vimeo videos embedded beyond the Vimeo.com site were dead on Android devices. Sometime late last Friday, Android playback of Vimeo videos embedded in sites beyond the public Vimeo.com website came back to life. Was it the “power of the press” from my articles in ProVideo Coalition magazine… or would it have happened anyway? We may never know the truth.
I have had no direct communication with any Vimeo employee about this topic, although on July 26, Tommy Penner of Vimeo acknowledged the fix on the Vimeo blog. I’m just glad it’s fixed after months of being broken. Ahead are my related Vimeo articles:

The 1928 film The Power of the Press
The Power of the Press is a 1928 silent film directed by Frank Capra and starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr as an aspiring newspaper reporter and Jobyna Ralston as a young woman suspected of murder. I have not seen it yet, but I plan to soon, since it is available here as a region-free DVD.
