Vinten Radamec, a Vitec Group brand and global leader in camera automation, has taken stability and accuracy to a new level with its new Fusion FP188 Robotic and Manual Pedestal.
Capable of recognizing compact ‘L’ shaped floor targets that offer more precise reference positioning across a wider range of floor finishes, the pedestal also features smoother transition sequencing, unique collision avoidance protection and adjustable bumper sensitivity.
Despite the reduction in the weight of modern cameras, at least one talent-facing vanity monitor is often attached to the camera head during HD production, alongside more traditional additions such as prompting equipment. Consequently, Vinten Radamec engineers have equipped the Fusion FP188 with a generous payload of 187 lbs (85 kg), and with new differential wheel trucks to maximize floor traction and enhance the company’s already unmatched shot stability performance.
In addition to equipping users for a seamless expansion into HD production, the future-proof support system is ready to deliver the added efficiency and recalled shot creativity available from camera robotics.
With its switchable robotic or manual mode, the pedestal offers a flexible choice for multi-function studios where no-compromise full manual performance – including Vinten’s unique Perfect Balance system – can be selected at the turn of a switch.
Vinten Radamec also has new entry-level Fusion FHR120 Robotic only Head, which, due to the absence of the manual changeover mechanism, offers users a lighter, more compact and affordable support system.
As well as delivering broadcast quality movement, the FHR120 can directly drive all full servo broadcast digital lenses from Canon and Fujinon – a feature unique to Vinten Radamec.
The Fusion FHR120 Robotic only Head can be supplied with virtual reality (VR) capability built-in or retrofitted to the head later. With state-of-the-art encoders counting one million positions per full revolution and a precision Head Processing Module, the FHR120 is an affordable robotic solution for VR applications.
The company is also launching HDVRC, a high definition digital version of the acclaimed Vinten Radamec Control System which offers an easy to configure control solution and provides multi-user, multi-facility control of pedestals, heads and elevation units. Offering the same precision storage of all shot and pedestal movements for creative, consistent and cost-effective production, HDVRC can handle SD/SDI and HD signals and graphics capture consistent with HD signals on other broadcast equipment.
All Vinten Radamec systems are designed and manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in the UK, which is part of The Vitec Group.
