Warp-Speed Key-Wording in Final Cut Pro X 1

This week on MacBreak Studio, Steve Martin from Ripple Training continues his discussion on organization in Final Cut Pro X.

After importing and performing some basic organizational tasks on your media by sorting by date and fixing any incorrect date info, the next step is often to tag your clips with keywords. Keyword tagging allows you to organize your clips into logical collections and is much more powerful than putting clips into folders because you can apply multiple keywords to each clip, with the result that the same clip can appear in different keyword collections.

Steve shows us some great tips for quickly setting up keywords, applying them using the Keyword Editor or by using keyboard shortcuts, and finally demonstrates a process he calls “Warp-speed keywording” in which you can apply keywords to clips without even selecting them. Simply by skimming over clips and invoking keyboard shortcuts (that you don't need to memorize because they are visible in the Keyword Editor), you can very quickly tag a large number of clips.
