Today, because of yesterday’s issue with Facebook and Instagram, Zacuto announced their new KAMELEON EVF. Zacuto has pretty much owned the EVF aftermarket. They should own it too. Their popular Gratical HD and Gratical Eye EVFs have won the hearts of many shooters. Again and again, and what appears to be again with the Kameleon, Zacuto has delivered a three feature rich Electronic Viewfinders to be used on any camera system. Their prices and features have beaten camera manufacturers who offer up equally as feature rich EVFs to go with their cameras.
For those older shooters who need reading glasses to see up close, the Kameleon EVF has the option to drop in a +1, +2, +3, or +4 extreme correction in the diopter. As I get older, I see options like this very helpful. No longer can I operate a camera with a monitor inches from my face.
The Kameleon EVF has many of those much loved Zacuto features like drop-in diopters I just mentioned, anti-fog protection, and auto-closing eyecup to keep the screen from burning in the sun. The new Kameleon EVF can handle 4K inputs and includes 3D LUT support.
To mount the Kameleon EVF Zacuto placed Arri Rosettes on each side of the EVF body. Zacuto will shop the Kameleon EVF in March as a price of $1950.00
